Well, I'm starting this year off a little late. Things are a bit crazy and busy. Lots of ball games, parties, gatherings, shopping, wrapping, and fun have kept me busy.
We left on December 30, 2008, and drove to Meridian, MS for the night. We lived there on base for 2 1/2 years. We didn't plan to go to the base and check it out, but we decided to go the next morning. We saw Tide Guy's old office building, our old house, the new Country Store, and several other things that brought back memories of our time there. On the 31st, we drove on down to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl. We had fun in NO, but unfortunately Bama lost the game against Utah Utes. Ugh. It was terrible. No one even gave Utah a chance at winning, but they came ready to play.
Sheet rock is being finished in the house. However, we have had tons of rain with more on the way. The brick work has stopped and the mud on the sheet rock is taking some time to dry. We have lots and lots of mud on the lot. Now, we need to pick out paint colors, fire places, and trim designs. Fun!
Gas prices remain about the same at $1.45 to $1.50 per gallon. Most food prices are the same, but retailers had tough times over the holidays. Most stores had fabulous sales after Christmas and into the following week.
Today, we are 14 months into our wait for China. That's all I have to say about that.
Hoping for a great 2009!!
